  • Keep enough distance from rock faces and respect barriers for safety reasons.
  • It is forbidden to damage rock faces and larger rocks, like erratic blocks, and to dig out fossils from the rock unit.
  • Fossil collecting is not allowed at places with a special protectio,n like Ground Monuments and Natural Monuments.
  • At places, that are not protected in a special way, fossil collecting is allowed, as far as they are not bound in a rock unit.
  • Please inform us, if you assume, that you have made a geologic discovery of international importance.
  • Geosites are often habitats, that accomodate protected species, like eagle owls. Be considerate, avoid noise, stay on the trails and don`t damage any plants.
  • Don`t leave any garbage.
  • If you see any damages, please report them to the GeoPark Ruhrgebiet.
